Peer Coaching at The Mentoring Project

New to FAU?  Not sure where to find an answer?  Looking to get involved?
If you are not sure you are ready to commit to an on-going mentoring relationship, we invite you to meet with a Peer Coach.

What is Peer Coaching?

A Peer Coach is either an undergraduate student with at least a 3.0 GPA or a graduate student who has earned their undergraduate degree.  Either way, Coaches are available to offer student-to-student, FAU specific tips and
advice on how to be successful here.

They understand that success in college isn't limited to having good study skills (although they can coach you on those), but it is also about getting along with the people you live with, feeling connected to campus, being able to make ends meets, and finding the right balance between work and academics, etc.

You can meet with a Peer Coach regularly throughout the semester, or stop in one-time mentoring and coaching center on the Boca campus with a question.  Coaches can also meet with you by phone or online.

Students in the Jump Start program can schedule an appointment with a Peer Coach through your Success Network.  All other students can call us at (561) 297-4809, e-mail us at, or stop by General Classroom South (GS-2), Suite 209.  Coaches meet with drop-in students on a first come, first served basis.
